Bridges are an option whenever at least one or more teeth are missing. If the empty space is not filled, the surrounding teeth often drift which can change your bite. A bridge is composed of abutments and pontics. Abutments are the supports for the bridge and consist of crowns placed on the teeth, one on each side of the empty space. The pontics are special crowns that span across the empty space and connect to the abutments. Bridges are usually made of porcelain. |
