| Fillings are generally used to replace (restore) tooth structure that has decay. The first step is to remove (prep) the decay in the tooth. Next, we will fill your tooth with a tooth-colored (composite-resin) filling. Composite-resin fillings are added in increments and hardened (cured) with a curing light. The filling is then carved and polished. Fillings do not last forever, they can develop leaks or cracks, fall out, or simply wear down due to clinching or chewing forces. |
